Subway to the Open Ocean
For a while now, I've been tinkering with this subway car model. It was one of those projects without a clear direction, just something to mess around with during downtime. Whenever I had a moment, I'd dust off this subway car and start experimenting—beginning with minor tests, gradually escalating to larger landscapes.
Today, I decided to open Unreal Engine 5.4.2 and introduce Sky Creator into the mix. This plugin is a lifesaver, handling the technical nitty-gritty of Niagara and environments, so you can focus on the creative aspects. I also added FluidFlux, a mind-blowing plugin for creating realistic water bodies.
The shots in this series are somewhat random, but there's a concept frame at the top that I plan to develop further. When I first posted this concept, my Unreal Engine skills were lackluster, especially with water caustics and bodies. It's gratifying to see the progress, though I know it'll take some time before I can confidently call it finished.
The dirtying of the subway car is the next bit on the list and should take some time but I also feel like it might not take long at all since this project now has a direction.
